“So many times, people turn their backs to you ’cause they don’t wanna see, what’s inside of you
’cause lookin’ inside of you they might realize there’s something inside of them they might not wanna find…” — Michael Franti
Mirrors!
A corollary thought has been fluttering around the caverns of my mind the past several days, typically when we think about mirroring we are reminded that what we see or recognize in others is actually a reflection of ourselves. Following this train of thought a bit further I believe you can begin to see a different effect.
It seems to me that many times the reflection we glimpse in others something is really, really divine and this divinity scares some manifesting in jealousy which in turn results in the physical actions of them attempting to trivialize a subject, belief system, or at time slander another person. Why would we have a propensity to do this? I think our culture the myth of separation we are programmed with from birth, that contains the implied lack of divinity and that we have to strive to gain forgiveness and holiness.
When we place our fears aside, standing in the present moment, we can begin to realize that the divine reflection of light we are beholding is actually the holiness within us. It’s already there inside of each of us, simple, beautiful, and heavenly!
